0. Assegurar-se que el PC té IP 192.168.1.2 màscara 255.255.255.0
    TFTP -i 192.168.1.1 PUT code.bin
    (no prémer enter encara)
funcionar instantani.
5. Endollar-lo i ràpidament prémer enter.

I followed the steps outlined by Tom for setting the speed and fixed IP
address.

Instead of using the TFTP program aquired from
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,929183%3Broot=equip.16%3Bmode=flat I
found that Windows XP has a TFTP program itself.

I downloaded the latest firmware file from the Linksys website and renamed
it to code.bin.

Note that there is a size limit to the file that TFTP will transfer, so
don't try to directly load Alchemy 6.0 RC5A

I connected directly to the router (LAN port) from the PC without any other
connections from the router to cable modem (WAN port).

In a command window (what I used to call a DOS window) move to the directory
containing the code.bin file.

Type the command: TFTP -i 192.168.1.1 PUT code.bin (don't hit Enter yet)

Unplug the router, wait a minute, then plug it in.

Within a couple of seconds of plugging the router in, hit Enter on the PC to
start the TFTP program.

Wait for the TFTP program to complete, then wait an additional minute or two
for the router to reboot.

In my case, the TFTP program reported successfully transfering the firmware.
Normally I would have been done. However, I tried pinging the router again
and it didn't respond properly (I don't recall exactly what the response
was). But I tried connecting from the PC to the WAN port and I was able to
ping the router!

Be aware that sometimes loading new firmware causes the LAN and WAN ports to
swap!?!

I connected to the router via the web interface and then did a firmware
update to Alchemy 6.0 rc5a. When the web page indicated success, I moved the
connection back to a LAN port (and waited a couple of minutes for the
reboot).

Now my router is alive and has the new firmware

Thanks to TheIndividual and Tom for their posts, Also a thanks to everyone
else who posts/responds in these forums, their experiences provide help for
those that struggle like me. Hopefully someone else will benifit from what
